George Ernest Jones was born at Rugby, Warwickshire on 7 June 1892, and attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He served with the 6th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 22 July 1915, and later transferred to the 2nd/4th Battalion. He was taken Prisoner of War at St. Quentin (Gricourt), on 21 March 1918, the first day of the German Spring Offensive, and was repatriated following the cessation of hostilities, later transferring to the Army Reserve.
Sold with Buckingham Palace ‘Welcome Home’ letter for returning Prisoners of War.
Albert Spink attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with 1st Battalion during the Great War in Mesopotamia from 25 August 1914. He was discharged on 21 August 1919.
