Edward Standen Monday attested for the Imperial Yeomanry and served in 4th (Glamorganshire) Company, 1st Battalion in South Africa during the Boer War. He was dangerously wounded to the abdomen and left hip on 28 April 1901, near Bethlehem, and having been invalided home to the U.K. on 29 August 1901, was discharged no longer physically fit for active service in November 1901. He is additionally entitled to the South Africa 1901 clasp to the Q.S.A.
