Victoria, Rupee, 1866, 9.47g/12h (Prid. 4; KM. Tn2; cf. Ford II, 472). Some digs in flan, central hole crude, otherwise fine, extremely rare; only about 6 specimens known £2,000-£2,600

To our knowledge, only one other specimen of this great Colonial rarity has been offered at public auction since the late Dick Ford’s (London Coins 156, March 2017, lot 1049, £12,000); the Ford specimen, comparable to London’s, realised £1,850 in 1991
