Colomb was appointed A.D.C. to the King during 1917-18, and his next seagoing appointment was as Captain of the cruiser Lancaster. He served on her as Commodore, and later Rear-Admiral Commanding the Pacific Fleet from August 1917 to 1920. Promoted Rear-Admiral on 27 April 1918, and with the battleship Colossus as his flagship, he served as Rear-Admiral Commanding the Reserve Fleet 1920-21. His subsequent advancements were to Vice-Admiral on 8 October 1925 and to Admiral on 1 August 1927. Colomb retired in the same year and died on 18 April 1958.
Sold with a folder containing a wealth of research, well presented, on the recipient, his family and the ships he served on, with many copied photographs. Also with the original Legion of Honour bestowal document, dated 28 August 1918, to the recipient as ‘Commodore of Pacific Squadron.’
