James Turner attested for the Royal Engineers and served with the Scottish Army Signalling Company during the Great War on the Western Front from 9 October 1914. He later transferred to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and was commissioned Lieutenant R.N.V.R. on 13 September 1918.
Sharif Khan enlisted during early 1896 and was commissioned Jemadar during at 1916. He served during the Great War with the 17th Cavalry Remount Squadron in Mesopotamia and was Mentioned in Despatches. He retired in 1919.
