Co DURHAM, Gateshead, 1836 (2), both silver, borough arms, goat’s head crest above, revs. geo. hawks esqr mayor, etc, edges plain, both 32mm, both 18.32g (Gardiner p.22; W 2696; D & W 302/21) [2]. Usual punch-mark after perambulation, extremely fine and dark-toned, rare; pierced for suspension £100-£150
