William Richard Hamilton Elliott was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers on 16 September 1942, and was advanced Captain on 16 September 1948, and Major on 16 September 1955. He relinquished his commission on 1 October 1956.
