SICILY, Syracuse, Dionysios I, Tetradrachm, c. 399-87, unsigned dies in the style of Eukleidas, charioteer driving fast quadriga left, Nike flying right above to crown him with wreath, dolphin in exergue, rev. head of Arethusa left, hair bound by sphendone and floating upwards (in water), four dolphins swimming around, 17.35g (Fischer-Bossert 103c [O35/R70], this coin; Trudeer 103; Hunterian 62, same dies). Good very fine, attractive old cabinet tone £2,000-£2,600
