16th century, a gilt-silver dress fastener, 2cm long by 1.5cm wide; trefoil-shaped plate containing three domes each with circular filigree decoration; in the centre is a disc with a separate petal surround; suspension bar behind, maker’s mark (a trefoil) punched on underneath of hook. About extremely fine £80-£100
