Rajbahadur Limbu attested into the British Army on 8 November 1956. He served in Malaya during the Malayan Emergency with 10th Gurkha Rifles, from 5 January 1957, and saw further service there seven times, including during the Borneo campaign. He was discharged on 4 January 1969.
