Ezekiel Bell, a porter from Winterslow, Hampshire, and a member of the Royal Wiltshire Militia, attested into the Portsmouth Division of the Royal Marines on 18 November 1865. He served in H.M.S. Active during the Ashantee War of 1873-74, and was discharged on 21 November 1877, after 12 years’ service.
