Frank Thorogood was born in Bow, London, in 1880. attested for the West Yorkshire Regiment on 31 October 1901. He served with the 1st Battalion on the North West Frontier of India in 1908, and then, having been advanced Sergeant, during the Great War on the Western Front from 13 July 1915. He was discharged on account of sickness on 26 July 1916, and was entitled to a Silver War Badge. He died in Wandsworth, London, in 1953.
