J. B. Vernede was awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal, published in I.A.O. 117 of March 1930, whilst serving as a Corporal in the Nilgiri Malabar Battalion, Auxiliary Force India.

Note: The recipient’s Volunteer Force Long Service Medal (for India and the Colonies), previously sold alongside this medal in 2009, subsequently sold in these rooms in March 2020.
