£2,000-£2,600
Found near Middle Aston (Oxfordshire), 2022 (EMC 2023.0212)
MEC 450 has the obverse reading +ianate. The mint was described as ‘uncertain’ by Grierson, but was tentatively associated with the Poitiers region on account of the pelleted drapery. The coin presented for sale here utilises a similar form of drapery, albeit with a much more accomplished bust.
