William Andrew Barber was born in Deptford, Kent and enlisted at New Cross. Serving in the 2nd Battalion, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 22 August 1914 and was was killed in action on 3 November 1914. He was buried in the Naves Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord, France. He was the son of Mrs Elizabeth Sarah Barber of 33 Hosier Street, Deptford, London.
