5th (Princess Charlotte of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards, a very fine quality trooper’s 1871 pattern helmet, all brass with multi-rayed star pattern frontal plate in white metal with brass Garter and white metal ‘5’, brass rose side ornaments and chin chain, red horse hair falling plume, the rear peak edging stamped internally ‘970 5DG 2329’, front peak lined with green skiver, original stout leather sweat band, two reverse nuts missing from the helmet plate otherwise in excellent condition £600-800
