Duke of Wellington, 1814, a small oval portait medallion, white wax on a black (possibly onyx) background, set in a gold frame decorated with a laurel wreath and crown above, rev. engraved (Watier’s, 1st July 1814), 45 x 30mm, 8.02g. Good very fine, rare; pin on reverse £300-£400

Watier’s Club was a gambling club located on the corner of Piccadilly and Bolton Street; it was open from 1807 to 1819.
