FRANCE, Société des Artistes Français, a silvered-bronze prize medal by D. Dupuis, muse standing, holding wreath in each hand, setaed cherub to left engraving plinth, rev. named (Mme Joseph, Lily Delissa, 1929), 54mm; a gilt-bronze prize medal, similar, rev. named (Mme Joseph, Lily Delissa, 1934) [2]. First pierced for suspension, second with remains of mount on edge at top, otherwise both about extremely fine £100-£150

Lily Delissa Joseph, née Solomon (1863-1940), British artist and social campaigner; younger sister of the painter Solomon Joseph Solomon; regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy, 1904-38; activist in the women’s suffrage movement and in support of Jewish charities
