Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 1st issue, large letter reverse, edge dated (John Hoare, Corporal 12th Regiment Foot. 1842.) impressed naming, with later silver eyelet suspension, edge bruising, nearly very fine £280-£340

John Hoare was born in Millstreet, Cork, Ireland. He attested for the 96th Foot at Bandon, Cork in December 1805, and served with the Regiment until December 1818, when he transferred to the 12th Foot. Hoare advanced to Corporal in January 1824, and was discharged in November 1842, having served for 27 years and 315 days.
