War Service Crosses Second Class with Swords in their Presentation Packets.
Two examples, the first an early War issue of excellent quality in bronze, and in mint as new unissued condition, retaining all original bright factory finish. The ring is not marked. The light brown packet is also mint, and has printed on the front ‘Kriegs-Verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwerten’ in black Gothic type. On the reverse is printed ‘Rudolf Souval Wien VII/62’; the second an early War issue of excellent quality in bronze, and in mint as new unissued condition, retaining all original bright factory finish. The ring is not marked. The light brown packet has slight wear, and has printed on the front ‘Kriegs-Verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwerten’ in black Gothic type. On the reverse is printed ‘Gebr. Gengensbach and Co. G.m.b.H. Pforzheim Poststrasse 5’, good very fine, the second scarce by this small maker (2) £100-£140
