John Kelly was born in Dalziel, Lanarkshire, and attested for the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders at Motherwell. He served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 3 October 1915, and was killed in action on 28 April 1917. He is buried in Tank Cemetery, Guemappe, France.
