Walter Guy Pople, a native of Bridgwater, Somerset, attested into the Worcestershire Regiment for service during the Great War and served on the Western Front with the 2/8th Battalion. He was killed in action on 3 September 1918 and is buried in Laventie Military Cemetery, France.
