Arthur Edney, a timber carter from Huntspill, Somerset, was born in 1889. He attested into the Army Veterinary Corps for service during the Great War and served on the Western Front from 23 January 1915. Discharged in March 1920, he enlisted into the Royal Artillery the following month and served as a Groom and Shoeing Smith. Discharged in 1937, he died in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in 1960.
