B.E.M. London Gazette 11 June 1940.

The recommendation states:

‘Sergeant-Artificer, 2nd Searchlight Regiment Royal Artillery.
This N.C.O. although only a Troop Artificer has been in charge of the Battery repair party and has done consistently well, especially on the march up country from Cherbourg. On this march efforts were untiring and successful in repairing and keeping the Battery vehicles on the road, the weather conditions being most inclement.’
