Afghanistan 1878-80, no clasp (47 Bde. 734 Pte. R. Marsh. 70th. Foot.) minor edge bruising, fitted with a replacement non-swivel suspension bar, otherwise very fine £60-£80

Robert Marsh, a labourer from Bath, Somerset, was born in 1857. He attested into the 70th Foot at Reigate in November 1877 and served in Afghanistan before returning home with his regiment in 1882. He was discharged on 4 November 1889 and died in 1901.
