Charles Chalons attested for the 81st Regiment of Foot (Loyal Lincoln Volunteers) on 10 December 1864. Raised Corporal 1 April 1879 and Pioneer Sergeant with the 47th Regiment of Foot 11 January 1882, he was discharged on 15 December 1885.
