Matthew Pollard was born in the Parish of Sileby, Mount Sorrell, Leicestershire, and enlisted into the 9th Regiment, for unlimited service, at Chelmsford on 22 August 1807, a frame work knitter aged 21 years. He was discharged due to ‘length of service and worn out’ at Manchester on 21 May 1828, aged 42. Sold with copy discharge papers.
