William Augustus Edwards originally attested for the Dorsetshire Regiment on 12 November 1895. He was placed on the India Unattached List as a Staff-Sergeant Instructor on 24 April 1911, In the 1920 I.U. List he is shown as serving with ‘20th Nilgiri, Malabar, Bangalore’.
