Frank Thomas was born in Birmingham on 20 December 1863. He entered the Royal Navy on 20 December 1881 as a Boy 2nd Class on the Impregnable. He served on the Bittern, firstly as a Boy 1st Class, then as an Ordinary Seaman and then an Able Seaman from November 1881 to February 1886, during which time his ship took part in the bombardment of Alexandria. Discharged from the Royal Navy in 1892, he joined the R.F.R. at Chatham in July 1901 and was discharged dead on 24 May 1904. Sold with copied service paper.
