Ranson is recorded on the C.W.G.C. register as having died on 11 January 1919, while serving in H.M.S. Leda. He is buried in Enfield Highway (St. James’s) Churchyard; sold with two original wartime newspaper cuttings which confirm the award of the St. Stanislaus for his work in minesweeping.
