Thomas John Tressioer Corfield Jenks entered the Navy as Midshipman on 1st March 1916, and was immediately appointed to the battleship H.M.S. Zealandia. He was appointed to H.M.S. Stuart in December 1918, and promoted Lieutenant in September 1919. Between the wars he served primarily in a wide range of submarines and was promoted to Lieut-Commander in September 1927. In September 1937 he was assigned as D.S.E.A. officer at Malta, and at the outbreak of war was attached to H.M.S. Maidstone, submarine depot ship at Malta. Later in the War he is shown as Commander (Retired) attached to H.M.S. Cyclops, depot ship for the 7th Submarine Flotilla at Rothesay.
