228852 Private Harold Morton, 42nd Battalion Canadian Infantry (Quebec Regiment), died of wounds on 17 May 1917, two days after the famous battle for Vimy Ridge, aged 18 years. He was buried at La Chaudiere Military Cemetery, Vimy, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of William and Ellen Morton of 79 Newby Street, Liverpool. Sold with the Morton’s identity disk and a Canadian Black Watch gilt and enamel sweetheart brooch and a postcard photograph. With copied research.
Sold also with sundry original documents belonging to the recipient’s sister - Constance Morton, including: National Registration Card; Identity Card; City of Liverpool Fire Guard Authority and Training Card; Food Ration Book; Clothing Ration Book and a Ministry of Information leaflet entitled, ‘If the Invader Comes, what to do - and how to do it’.
