, G.V.R., unnamed as issued; Military Medal, G.V.R. (45047 B.S. Mjr. R. B. Wilock. B.156/Bde. R.F.A.); 1914 Star, with clasp (45047 Cpl., R.F.A.); British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. oak leaf (2 Lieut.), mounted as worn, generally good very fine (5) £1800-2200

M.C. London Gazette 22 June 1918:

‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. It was mainly owing to his coolness and resource that all six guns of his battery were removed intact to a new position under heavy fire. Later, when the battery was again shelled, he showed great skill in selecting a new position, where his guns were again brought into action.’

Richard Barker Wilcock first enterd the French theatre of war in early October 1914, as a Corporal in 22nd Brigade, R.F.A. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in July 1917.
