Mark David Bernard Pearcey was born in Coventry in 1960 and witnessed extensive overseas service with the Royal Artillery during the South Atlantic campaign and as part of the mission to supervise the cease-fire and maintain a buffer zone on the island of Cyprus. Posted to the Middle East, he took part in the Liberation of Kuwait where artillery proved invaluable in softening up an entrenched Iraqi Army. Pearcey is later recorded as having died at Wolverhampton in 2011.
