A fine example c.1901-10, black leather body with French grey melton cloth mortar board top with diagonal gilt bullion wire cord and on the corners, the frontal plate gilt back plate with silvered crowned Royal Arms, laurel wreath and crossed lances, below battle honour ‘Khartoum’ with VRI Cypher, gilt bullion stitched peak with ornate lions head side bosses, gilt bullion plume boss with E.VII.R. Cypher, plume holder absent and red silk lining replaced, otherwise very good condition £1,200-£1,600
