China 1857-60, 1 clasp, Taku Forts 1860 (Matw Ratcliffe 67th Regt) officially impressed naming, pawnbroker’s mark in obverse field, suspension claw loose, light scratches, very fine £360-£440

Matthew Ratcliffe was born in Walesby, near Ollerton, Nottinghamshire. He attested for the 67th Foot at Sheffield in November 1854, and served with the regiment in China. Ratcliffe was wounded at the taking of the inner Taku Fort, 21 August 1860, and invalided, 08 June 1864. He was discharged in December 1864.
