His Royal Highness Prince Arthur William Patrick Albert, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, the third son of Queen Victoria, and the brother-in-law of his predecessor the Marquess of Lorne, served as the 10th Governor-General of Canada from October 1911 to November 1916, the only member of the Royal Family to so serve.
