Edward Hughes served with the 1/6th Battalion in the Balkans theatre from 8 August 1915, and was killed in action at Gallipoli on 14 August 1915. He was aged 33, son of Hugh Huges, Penrhydleiniog, Pellheli, and is commemorated by name on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.
