Hammer Price:
£1,200

Commonwealth of Australia, watermarked paper for the first King George VI issue of 1938-52, comprising 10 Shillings, £1, £5, £10 as well as the unissued £50 and £100, all glued into two large format frames of thick blue card, ink annotations on paper, extremely rare and in fact likely to be unique in the case of the 10 Shilling, £50 and £100 papers, as these are the only examples in the Portals archive (6 papers, 2 frames)
BNB B131-136, Pick 25-28, 28A, 28B £400-£500

These items are directly from the Portals Paper Archive

The paper for the £50 and £100 notes in this lot come from an issue of 1939 that was printed, but never issued. The entire run of each was destroyed in 1958, wit the exception of a few specimens held in institutions, meaning that this watermarked paper is likely to be the closest collectors will get to either of the notes.
