French Somaliland, a selection of post cards, one with monument ‘aux morts de la Grande Guerre’ with the Banque de l’Indo-Chine building in the background, the earliest known photograph of the Banque de l’Indo-Chine, Djibouti (Dabbah p.156); a postcard depicting the head of a young man as on the 10 Franc of 1948 first published in 1941 (cf Dabbah p.164); also an example of the inaugural Free French rule airmail envelope franked ‘DJIBOUTI 5 FEV 43’, sent from the French-governed coast of the Somalis and interestingly covers both the flight origin and destination Syria and Lebanon (see Dabah p.167) excellent grade, unusual and scarce (4 items) £100-£140
