James II (1437-1460), Second coinage, Second issue, Groat, type IIb, Edinburgh, mm. crown, tressure of nine arcs, trefoils on some cusps, nothing in spandrels, small lis to right of crown, reads iacobvs and gratia, legend ends scotorvm, rev. crown in first and fourth quarters, three pellets and annulet in second and third quarters, nothing in centre of cross, double saltire stops both sides, 3.70g/3h (SCBI 35, 701, same obv. die; SCBI 72, 675; B 17, fig. 532, same obv. die; S 5233). Soft strike, nearly very fine £400-£500
