Local, LONDON, Great Campden House, Kensington, a silver award medal, unsigned, lyre within wreath, rev. named (First Prize Presented by Miss Christian to Miss Ward, Christmas 1833), 42mm, 26.70g (cf. Grimshaw II, 65a, b). Pierced for suspension, very fine, scarce £50-£70

Campden House was built for Sir Baptist Hicks c. 1610 in the Jacobean style. The estate was purchased by Stephen Pitt in 1751 and towards the end of the 18th century the house was converted into a girls' boarding school. In March 1862, it was almost totally destroyed by fire.
