Anglo-Saxon, 6th century, a gilt bronze saucer brooch, measuring 39mm in diameter, 25.97g, with a flared rim, chip carved design with a central ring and dot motif enclosed by six running spirals with tendrils forming pointed lobes; hinge and catch plate behind (cf. MacGregor 1993, no. 2.10). Fine with a green patina but the rim is very worn £60-£80
