Frankish, 6th century, a bronze Eagle brooch, measuring 32mm x 21mm, Chip carved with central boss containing ring and dot motif, trapezoidal tail and angular foot and wing, large ring and dot eye with curved beak. Iron spring behind (cf. Hattatt 1320). Extremely fine with smooth green patina £200-£260

Found by a metal detectorist in the Home Counties.
