The moneyer, Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus, held significant military positions during the Gallic Wars, namely commander of the Caesarian fleet during the blockade of Massilia in June 49 BC, making him a perfect candidate for moneyer of these coins which commemorate Caesar’s success in the Gallic Wars. Evidently, his focus when it came to coins, was on Caesar’s military achievements, contemporary events and propaganda against Pompey. Gaius Vibia Pansa however focused more on his own family.
