Roman Imperatorial Coinage, The Second Triumvirate, Octavian, Denarius, Military mint in Italy, late 41 BC, struck under Lucius Cornelius Balbus as propraetor, c caesar iii vir r p [–] around bare head of Octavian, slightly bearded, rev. balbvs above, pro pr below, club pointing left, 3.81/12h (Ghey 322, this coin; Craw. 518/1; BMCRR Gaul 83-85; RSC 417; Sear 298). Crescent banker’s marks on obverse and reverse, struck slightly off-centre, otherwise fine with even hoard patina £80-£100
