Roman Imperatorial Coinage, Post Second Triumvirate, Octavian, Denarius, Italy, possibly Brundisium or Rome, 31-29 BC, bare head of Octavian right, rev. [–]ar div[–] in field either side of Mercury nude, sitting right on cloak on rock, petasus hanging behind shoulders and holding in his hands a lyre upon his knees, 3.73g/2h (Ghey 381, this coin; BMC 596-8; RIC 257; RSC 61). Struck on an elongated flan, about fine £80-£100
