Roman Imperial Coinage, Claudius (41-54), Denarius, Rome, AD 41-42, ti clavd caesar avg p m tr p around laureate head right, rev. praetor recept around Claudius, bare-headed and togate standing right, clasping hands with long-haired praetorian soldier standing left with shield slung on one side, holding aquila in left hand, 3.77g/7h (Ghey 397, this coin; BMC 9; RIC 12; RSC 78). A few light surface marks, otherwise well centred and struck-up, good very fine and very rare £1,500-£1,800
