Cnut (1016-1035), Penny, Pointed Helmet type, York, Witherin, pidrn mo eoerp, 0.92g/3h (BEH 845; N 787; S 1158). Pierced and cracked near centre, otherwise very fine, the style of lettering on reverse unusual and believed to be the work of a local die cutter (£80-100)
