Sapper Sam Marshall Williams was born in and enlisted at Bangor, Carnarvonshire. Serving with the 2nd Wireless Signal Company Royal Engineers, he died in Mesopotamia on 13 October 1918. The son of William and Catherine Ellen Williams of 65 Orme Road, Bangor; he was buried in the Tehran War Cemetery.
